The primary role of the Senior Electrical Engineer is to lead the development and design of various energy conversion devices along with other circuit protection and relay devices using nano scale analog techniques. This includes control system design, materials selection and analysis and detailed packaging design techniques to meet the desired product specifications
Responsibilities:
Create design plans summarizing the materials to be used and the processes required to meet the product goals.
Lead prototype development, design and implementation efforts as per plan. Manage documentation of all hardware activities. Interface with internal and external resources as appropriate.
Lead hardware integration and verification efforts as per plan. Interface with test design to ensure the expected designs are testable once in production.
Create new processes, modify existing processes, to satisfy the electrical hardware design and implementation.
Achieve internal and external customer satisfaction.
Collaborate with peers and managers to optimize efficiency and cost for product development and detailing. Work with contracted, and other off-site design support personnel as required.
Become familiar with electronics design software and tools introduced by the company.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Educational Requirements:
Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required. PhD. desired.
10 years minimum experience in power electronics or equivalent analog area along with 5 years experience in semiconductor fabrication.
Experience with heat flow and heat sink design are also required.
Experience in the following areas are desired: circuit protection devices (PTC, in-rush limiters, etc.), thermoelectric devices (peltier effect, bismuth telluride materials), vacuum systems engineering, hermetic packaging, and MEMs or flipchip devices.
Thorough knowledge of electrical engineering disciplines for product design and development required.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication presentation skills and the ability to work well with customers and development team members.
